Description of the Experience
The main difficulty in learning at school is disinterest and lack of motivation of students. The hardest students to understand that science is not a set of immutable knowledge. Students have difficulty understanding what is the scientific method.
Another problem is the superstition and religious prejudice
Main difficulty in teaching is the ratio of students per class.

A case very curious about the superstition that I found was that there were several South American immigrant students who believed that taenia is eliminated approaching a glass of milk . So it is expelled through the mouth. It's so absurd. When a student told me the first time I believed the student was telling me a joke. Apparently it is a widespread belief in some South American countries.
The solution was to explain how it was simply impossible for anatomical reasons. Also explain to them the characteristics of the parasite and how anthelmintics work to remove it.
To reinforce this, the students carried out a research work about taenia and anthelmintics.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
