Description of the Experience
Repetitive work methods often used by the same teacher in the class eventually become monotonous. To avoid this, one should use various ways of conducting the lesson. It is worth to look around and benefit from cooperation with other institutions. At our school we organized demonstration lesson of chemistry under the patronage of PKN ORLEN (Central Europe’s largest refinery of crude oil), entitled “Crude oil”. Lesson was conducted by two representatives of the company. Students with great interest participated in the activities where they had the opportunity to observe live fractionation of colorless methylated spirits, which is not feasible during traditional lessons. They were also shawn multimedia presentation related to the topic designed in comic book style. During the lesson students a.e. examined the properties of oil, got to know the place and way of output, as well as how widely used is this raw material. Students were able to check the knowledge gained on the lesson answering the questions asked by the speakers. Lesson conducted in such a way was unusual experience for the youth. It showed that chemistry is a branch of science that directly affects our daily life. The way and persons conducting the lesson were inspiration for students.

The teaching experience is presented because it creates a positive relationship between the school and the world of work, useful to boost competence in the preparation of pupils.
Students must not only learn the material, but must also have the expertise to be able to relate to the outside world (not only with the world of work).

Inviting speakers from the oil company to classes is a very good idea, the students eagerly participate in classes conducted by experts. Classes are usually different from those carried out by the teacher in the learning branch, and thus more attractive.

Zaproszenie na lekcję prelegentów z koncernu naftowego to bardzo dobry pomysł, uczniowie chętnie uczestniczą w zajęciach prowadzonych przez specjalistów. Lekcje są z reguły inne niż te prowadzone przez nauczyciela uczącego w danym oddziale, a przez to atrakcyjniejsze.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
