Description of the initiative
This initiative addresses the disaffection of young students from scientific subjects and the great disconnection between the didactic methodologies proposed and the products from one hand, and between the young people’s expectations and demands from the other.
The initiative proposes:
- new teaching/learning methodologies through ITC for the acquisition of disciplinary contents of scientific subjects;
- working materials capable to make students and teachers get the essential elements of scientific subjects.
There are several description of learning objects available for the following thematic areas: acoustic, cinematic, electricity and magnetism, forces and laws of motion, momentum and collisions, thermodynamics.
The phenomenological areas covered are: light, colour and vision, movement, strength and energy, temperature heat energy, electricity and magnetism
acids, bases and salts, the earth and the universe, the living: animals and plants, the living: the human body, ecosystems and their functioning.
A teaching guide is available at http://www.resnetwork.eu/files/manuale_res_coach_estratto.pdf
More Information
The purpose of the project is to stimulate the student’s interest for scientific subjects and it is absolved through the direction of the teachers to didactic integration with technological use.
The website offers a guidebook (http://www.resnetwork.eu/files/manuale_res_coach_estratto.pdf) “Verso un uso efficace dell’Information Communication Technologies”.[“For an efficient use of Information Communication Technologies”]
At the link http://www.resnetwork.eu/?q=directory didactic contents, that demonstrate the possible applications of the informatics software, are available (e.g. http://www.resnetwork.eu/?q=directory).
It can be useful download the Coach 6 software at the link http://cma-science.nl/english/downloads/installcoach6.html
Teachers’ Opinion
I haven’t find the surfing simple. At a first exploration the main problem I have met is understanding if the presented projects are still active and how you can eventually join them.
There is a list of interesting activities you can do using new technologies. It’s suggested a particular software I didn’t succeed in downloading (but surely it’s my guilt). The site proposes a guide I have found useful because it lists the main difficulties students meet for example in constructing the principal kinematic concepts. Not all the sections are available in English and so this could be a problem in sharing experiences with teachers of different countries.
Students’ Opinion
The website is not made for students.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
