Target group:
Secondary vocational school of gastronomy and tourism, Levická 40, Nitra. 1st year students, field of study: tourism services

Objectives of the educational product – at the end of the lesson:
• Students will learn the concepts of the energy value of food
• Students will be able to use the charts of food energetic values
• Students will be able to calculate the energy value of food in different ways (through kJ through nutrients)
• Students will learn in practical life to determine the energy value of food (food packaging)
• Students will develop numeracy

The content of educational product
The energy value of food - definitions, calculation

Expected results of the educational product and the testing ways
Method: interpretation, work with text materials, work in small groups
Material: charts with food energetic values, calculators, examples, PC, the projector
Verification: practical problem solving during lesson

Food and knowledge about it is very important. In class we usually don't have time to discuss this topic thoroughly and since it's an interesting topic for students we usually plan some extracurricular activities. The lesson plan is interesting and I will try it in my practice.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
