Description of the Experience
Healthy child nutrition - theory and facts. This is a problem that refers not only to lessons in the school, but the whole society. I’ve noticed that even after very long discussions and lectures on healthy eating, students after classes go to buy chips and coke. So I decided to give the matter into their hands - literally, that is, to perform a lawsuit. The defendants were Fast-foods, soda and all junk food. Of course, there was also barrister, prosecutor, judge and jury. Class was divided into teams that have to collect facts and documents for and against. Barrister together with his team were looking for all the arguments why we can and want to eat Fast food, etc. They described such things as taste and pleasure associated with eating crisps at parties, and that they are widely advertised and available. Just like the famous “hot cup” soup type, which allows you to satisfy hunger quickly. Defense raised arguments concerning health, the use of preservatives, ecology, but also the natural flavor of food undamaged with sodium glutamate. There were even accusations of addiction to substances contained in a highly processed food. This was a project implemented during several lessons. During the lesson, each team sought information on the Internet, gathered them and analysed. Information were presented in the form of paper (text with illustrations in Word) or in the form of presentation in Movie Maker or Power Point. Students were so involved in a project that they have done interviews with nutritionists and doctors, and then presented or cited it during the trial. Junkfood supporters rose to the occasion as well and treated jury during the trial to burgers asking them whether they like the taste...
I think that this form of presentation of the topic really fell in memory of the children, because students themselves acquired the information needed for the lesson, and thus certainly solidated it. At the same time during the classes natural form of competition appeared - as it is in the trial in court. Of course, I do not have to say that junk food utterly lost...

The problem of healthy eating was presented to students in a very interesting way. It engaged them directly to the subject. It required active participation, and to use different sources of information, thereby naturally absorbed and consolidated. Competition between students raises their motivation.

Problem zdrowego odżywiania ciekawie opracowany z uczniami. Angażujący ich bezpośrednio w temat, wymagający aktywności, korzystania z różnych źródeł informacji, a przez to naturalnie przyswajany i utrwalany.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
