Description of the Experience
Students have a problem with mastering the methods of vegetative propagation of plants and the determination of the influence of abiotic factors on the growth and development of plants. My idea to a better understanding of these issues by the students is to organize practical classes where they plant potted plants. The students first become familiar with a variety of pot plants gathered in the school, they can also bring their own specimens, learn how their propagation, transplanting and maintenance principles of selected species. Students point out the factors that are necessary for the proper functioning of the plant, then carry out experiments that rely on checking the influence of light and water for their growth and development, after a few days make observations and draw the appropriate conclusions with teacher's help. Each participant of lessons plants houseplant and takes it home. Each year these classes arouse great interest of young people. Students are willing to participate in them thereby deepening their knowledge of botany. This lesson reminds students how plants are important for human life on Earth. Knowledge of ways to raise seedlings potted plants could be used later to decorate classrooms or their own homes. Measure of success is that the students even year ago after mentioned classes bring their plants, which are very nicely developed.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
