Description of the Experience
Geometry can be a scary word for most children. The list of frightening words include angles, hypotenuse and circumference. However, learning about shapes and their properties can lead to a range of stimulating activities. I always try to combine geometry with craft or computer games so that geometry can become fun and exciting.

Ask children to find and then sort classroom objects (bottles, books) into different groups, depending on their shape. Discuss the shape of different objects they see in the classroom. Children could present objects from home and talk about their shapes the shapes. They could also feel objects in a bag and guess what shapes they have.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
