Description of the Experience
The sum of two negative numbers is a negative number. Since students often get confused and feel difficult to remember one rule just said, in this case I try to persuade the meaning of the negative sign by using the example with the money. I tell them to imagine how they spend 3 lev for shopping and then how they spend another 8 lev. These are money they do not possess any more (sign ‘-‘).Eventually they have to collect the total amount spent (11 lev) which should be also with sign ‘-‘, because they no longer have it.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
