Description of the Experience
When teaching Communication subject, I usually face such problems as concentration of attention and maintaining it. Often I have to work with students in the class, who have ADS, behaviour problems as well as low self-esteem. That often destabilises situation during the lesson. I try to solve this problem with humour, and it usually works. Of course there are situations when I need to insist on my requirements, when it’s matter of bald violation of internal rules.
It’s possible to work with theory during the teaching of subject as well as work practically, when you develop listening skills, solving of conflicts, argumentations and other communications skills, what helps in personality development. Parallel to the theoretical presentation in theory lessons, I give examples of everyday life, and urge students to see similar situations, to create understanding, how and when to apply this knowledge. I urge the students to analyse and make research of teachers and learn to interpret the findings. Students are motivated to learn for themselves, not for the school. During practical lessons with help of different exercises, students work with all perceptions- visual, audial, kinaesthetic,- to encourage students and to raise their self-esteem. Students work in pairs and small groups, thus learn to listen actively, respect others opinion, solve conflicts, take decisions and bear responsibility for that. Experiences, feelings, mistakes are analysed through feedback. Teacher is working as a group member, who has main role in group work.
Both practical and theoretical lessons are based on common cooperation principles.
Test results help me to understand students’ comprehension of subject as well as what should be changed in learning process.
My experience shows, that learning results are improving gradually, in 2nd semester, when students have accepted and understood teacher’s requirements and methods applied.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
