Description of the Experience
The aim of the lesson is that the student will be able to name all the parts the eye is made of, to describe the image of a healthy eye, and to explain the basic concepts in perceiving by a human eye. He or she should also be able to describe the errors of the eye when viewing.
The first step in my lesson is to check homework – a drawing of an eye copied from a classical physics textbook and labeled with the names of various parts of the eye. After writing down the part names of the eye in a discussion with students I explain concepts of the eye optical system, what picture emerges when viewing by an eye, what is the eye accommodation and conventional visual distance, the inertia of the eye and what bodies can be found in the retina and what they are used for. Alongside the discussions students also take notes as they are used in the physics classes.
The digital physics textbook by PaedDr. Joseph Beňuška provides great animation to explain the eye accommodation. It shows what is going on with the lens in the eye when it is a case of a focusing eye through the ciliary muscle in observing near and far objects. It also shows near and far point of a healthy eye. Educational presentations help me explain the topics of myopic and farsighted eyes and save me the time needed for explanation.
Students are usually very interested in this subject and get actively involved in the debate.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
