To know the surrounding environment is fundamental to all teaching process. This knowledge should be performed in situ for students to value their natural surroundings and to learn to respect them.

The Albufera Lagoon is a protected natural area with high ecological value, since it has authochthonus species as samaruc (Valencia hispanica) ... It is also a special bird protection area and belongs to the list of Ramsar wetlands. This lagoon allows the nesting of many species and the rest of migratory birds.

On a field trip the students recognize the different biotopes that can be found in the Albufera: dune ecosystems, meshed, Devesa, lagoon ... and each of them they made an identification of different animal and plant species. To study the Albufera lagoon boat rides allows better view and water samples were collected for both chemical and biological analysis that are also performed.

At the same time, during the tour, the formation of the Albufera explained.

Conducting field trips is essential to further scientific knowledge and allows the study of flora and fauna in its own ecosystem.

This experience is really relevant. It is very good way of motivating students. Such visit can show students different aspects of sciences like biology, but also chemistry, geography in the environment. It is good opportunity to organize cross-subject lesson.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
