Description of the Experience
The aims of this lesson was to repeat the curriculum about the volume and surface of bodies in application tasks in three-year apprenticeship – mechanic, bodywork, varnisher, and electrician. I worked with students with the help of interactive board, presentation and group discussion. The students already knew how to work with the board and also knew the formula for the volume and surface of the bodies.
Using the presentation we gradually moved through individual bodies, and together we searched where we can find those bodies with the connection to their professional studies, where in a car or on a car we can find those shapes. When students did not know how to start I showed them some examples in presentation and then they searched for another examples with using their real life experiences. Students wrote down the examples and then we moved to solving examples on interactive boards. Students solved for example this kind of tasks – Find out how many m³ of material can theoretically take semi-truck, which has the dimensions: 13 620 x 2000 x 2 000 mm? or VW Touareg V6 (6 cylinder): engine has a displacement of all cylinders 3189 cm³, piston stroke is 95,9 mm. What is the diameter in centimetres per cylinder? Each task was supplemented with a picture so students did not have trouble with imagining the situation. Students actively participated, searched for possible solutions of tasks and we together we wrote procedures on the board. I evaluate this lesson as positive, because students were active and cooperated together. Students also liked the lesson.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
