Description of the Experience
Identification of human organs and systems with computer components using a model - a computer.
Having in mind the technical focus and considerable computer knowledge of students and some references of functions of human organs and computer components and the reference between the human body and the computer, this could be used for better explanation of the human anatomy.
Central computer processor - brain
They are involved in the regulation of all processes - processor in the computer system and the brain in the human body.
Graphic card and sound card - midbrain
Graphic card and sound card convert data stored on the hard drive in visual data (can be seen on the monitor) and in auditory data (can be heard).
One of the main features of the mid-brain is processing, combining and comparing different types of sensory information (for example visual, auditory, etc.).
Hard drive - cerebral cortex
In man and computers there is a similarity in terms of the types of memory, short-term and long-term.
Data stored on hard drive are energy independent and can refer to long-term memory, while those in the RAM are energy dependent and can refer to short-term memory.
Memory is the ability of the brain to accumulate, retain and reproduce information. Information to be remembered for a short period of time is short-term memory and the information aimed to be remembered for a long time (even lifelong) is long-term memory.
Slots peripherals - Cerebellum
The peripheral devices are "limbs" of the computer, controlled by the processor, and the slots provide link between them.
The function of the cerebellum is entirely related to the regulation and coordination of movement in man.
Cooling system (fan) - Endocrine System
Thermoregulation is extremely important to human and computer. In humans it is presented by the endocrine system, and in computer this is the fan.
Network card – various organs of communication
The network card provides connection of the computer to other computers (networks). This is actually one of the forms of communication of the computer, another form is its connection to the Internet. In humans there are various organs for communication, as well mental functions, that enrich opportunities for communication in humans.
RAM - DNA
RAM is a type of memory that contains information on the number, functions and data of each program. In humans the DNA molecule is the one that holds the hereditary information and stores it in its polynucleotide sequence.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
