More Information
The project is a comprehensive initiative run by the Centre for Education Development. The aim is to provide good support for talented students. There is a network of schools entitled “Talent Discoverers Schools”. The benefits are the access to training materials and conferences to develop the students’ interests. The project website contains practical materials for the use both of teachers and students. It includes mini courses for students that cover: Mnemonics and memory, Courses on effective reading, From dream to success (motivation course): http://s1.ore.iq.pl/oreglowna/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&id=89:mini-kursy-dla-ucznia-zdolnego&Itemid=1355#. Teacher can verify various materials to facilitate the work with talented students (legislation and regulations, methods and forms of work, reports on the support to talented students and other documents: http://s1.ore.iq.pl/oreglowna/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&id=88:materiay-edukacyjne-ksztacenia-uczniw-zdolnych&Itemid=1355.
The website contains also guidebooks for teachers how to develop students’ interests in different school subjects, such as for example IT (http://www.ore.edu.pl/strona-ore/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&download=2776:jak-pomaga-uczniom-rozwija-uzdolnienia-informatyczne&id=127:poradniki&Itemid=1355)
Teachers’ Opinion
The program is a good initiative. Schools that wish to participate can make use of teaching aids like manuals and methodologies. Importantly, the repository of material is gradually developed and new resources are added. In addition, teachers can participate in numerous training courses organized by ORE. Participation in the project is prestigious for school and certainly enriches the expertise of teachers.
Students’ Opinion
I think courses on memory techniques and mnemonics are interesting. These skills are useful to learn and in everyday life. Most of the presented results on the page (eg. Guides) are for teachers. Project website opens in a strange way sometimes. This element should be further developed.

The initiative of the project is interesting: it helps teachers to have access to training materials and conferences to develop students’ talents. I found the project website especially useful for its practical materials, which can be used by both teachers and students. The mini courses on improving memory and speeding your reading (Mnemonics and memory, Courses on effective reading) sound very tempting no matter the age.

This kind of projects and activities for pupils with greater potential and talented are more and more encountered. Finally the decision makers realize the importance of creating special programs for these pupils to exploit their potential. There is still a need for the teachers to adapt to the needs of students and to respond with various forms of activities aimed at the discovery and development capabilities.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
