More Information
ICT in the teaching of mathematics and science subjects in secondary schools project aimed at implementing innovative software solutions and methodologies in secondary schools to enable students to use information and communication technologies. The final product provides courses for teachers how to use e-learning platforms and ICT to teach different subjects: biology, geography, chemistry, mathematics (http://www.cen.suwalki.pl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=136&Itemid=121). The courses are available online as pdf files, not supported by other multimedia. They provide general knowledge on the use of ICT.
Teachers’ Opinion
The program resulted in the implementation of innovative solutions in secondary curriculum and methodology to enable students to use information and communication technologies, with particular emphasis on modern means of learning mathematics and natural objects. Materials available on the website contain basic knowledge. It would be good to add more resources (eg. multimedia, lesson plans).
Students’ Opinion
Project website is pretty simple. You can download any materials from it in pdf format. Courses may be helpful for teachers if they are planning the introduction of new ICT-based solutions.

The project is about the use of Moodle environment for distance learning through interactive media and in terms of preparing teachers to work in this environment and the subsequent use of the environment to students. The pupils welcome the similar form of communication with teachers and opportunities to learn through the media. I have already met with this attitude when using my website, the formation of which was simple, but does not provide such interactivity as Moodle does. A quality teacher training, which is provided by the project is an important for him and thus for his pupils.

Student - Benjamim Belanský
When I miss the lessons in school, it is really good that I have available, at our teacher´s website, worksheets with solved tasks and explained theory. Thus I can prepare for the exam myself. When I don’t understand something, I can always write email to teacher or ask about it later at school.
It is certainly good when teachers are able to work with the computer and if there is a place or person which/who can teach them how to improve their skills. Therefore, the project is good.

Romania is facing challenges in the provision of quality secondary education. Student performance in Sciences and Mathematics is particularly poor and the poor performance has been attributed to factors such as shortage of teachers, low quality of teachers’ content knowledge and pedagogical skills, as well as inadequate teaching and learning resources. Integration of ICT into the teaching of these subjects, Science and Mathematics, is seen as the most appropriate way of addressing these challenges and improving teaching and learning.
The courses for teachers on how to use e-learning platforms and ICT to teach different subjects: biology, geography, chemistry, mathematics, are very interesting and useful.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
