The aim of the project: to increase the interest of junior high school students to continue their education in the fields of technical and natural sciences through the creation of interdisciplinary teaching program block aimed at developing practical skills and creative thinking.
The final product: The INTERBLOK. The interdisciplinary curriculum block of mathematics and natural sciences and computer science in lower secondary school which consists of:
1) The INTERBLOK with the didactic materials comprising:
- Work instructions student, teacher and school principal,
- Interdisciplinary lesson plans,
- Proposals for independent research problems solved by the student,
- Proposals for prototypes,

- An educational portal - interplatform.
2) The teacher certification program for trainers INTERBLOK.
More Information
INTERBLOK provides innovative curriculum for science and ICT teachers. It is consistent with basic curriculum for Lower secondary schools in Poland. It could be implemented at school as extra curricular activities. It integrates topics from different subjects into interdisciplinary module.
It has well developed methodical handbook to guide teachers to use the materials:
The project has its e-learning platform with materials for teachers and students: It is a relevant source of materials.
The platform contains scenarios for lessons, quizzes, didactic materials for teachers and students. There are also plans for didactic visits:
Teachers’ Opinion
Interblok contains interesting scenarios for teachers of science and ICT at the lower secondary schools level to use in cross-subject courses. The combination of several subjects in thematic blocks is a good idea. Students get familiar with natural phenomena and topics in a wider perspective. The program is comprehensive. Implementation of the program is supported by economic game and web-based platform and forum for the exchange of experience, where students can exchange experiences and knowledge with students of other schools.
Students’ Opinion
The idea of the programme is really interesting. Students are engaged in activities so they can better absorb the material. In the first year students perform scientific experiments, which increase the attractiveness of the classes. In the second year, students receive research problems to solve, which requires responsibility. In the third year of the programme, students become designers and design and build prototypes that meet certain standards. This allows you to develop a variety of skills.

The project is about educating teachers in the field of the project learning; teaching in blocks integrating science and economic subjects. It is also about using the website created for the pupils and the teachers. I have already came across a similar portal; it was mainly used by teachers, providing for them a range of high quality materials for activating pupils by using problem solving tasks close to the normal life. It is a pity that I couldn’t log in and view the materials contained on the Interblock with the pupils. I think that this form of education is very useful for the pupils and can support self- studying of the students in the future.

We have done some projects before, at elementary schools, sometimes on the paper, sometimes in the PowerPoint. We have been making them mostly at home according to the instructions given by teachers in classes. It is good if you can also read about the project task on the website and see how someone has already made something similar. On the Interblock, there were interesting references and links, but unfortunately we couldn´t open them.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
