Description of the initiative
The overall objective of the Project is to develop and test until 2013. comprehensive, innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum in science basing on project method in primary schools, lower secondary schools and upper secondary schools, which in turn should lead to an increase in students' interest in continuing education in technical fields. Due to the vast possibilities of using the knowledge of different subjects interdisciplinary program will be devoted to the study of the human environment. The expected result of its implementation is to educate (corresponding to the level of education) the student as a person conscious of environmental and natural phenomena that understands the processes of shaping the environment and having practical skills to use this knowledge and its implementation.
The final product:
1) An innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum of mathematics and science implemented according to education project method entitled "Three elements" (air, water, earth)
a. Primary School
b. Lower secondary school
c. Upper secondary school.
2) Textbooks for Teachers: A Guide to educational projects (developed separately for each element: Earth, Water, Air).
3) Textbooks for the students worked on two levels for each element separately
a. Plays with Three elements - basic level
b. Experiments with Three elements - the level of secondary education.
4) Work sheets and work sampling
More Information
Ecology Project resulted in the development of the comprehensive, innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum in science basing on project method in primary schools, lower secondary schools and upper secondary schools. The scope of materials is broad and it could be used within different levels of schools.
Results addressed to teachers are: A Guide to educational projects (developed separately for each element: Earth, Water, Air). There are also interdisciplinary curriculum of mathematics and science education projects based around "three elements", for three school levels: primary school, lower secondary school, secondary school (

Students can also find innovative materials to help them learn issues related to ecology and science education: plays with three elements (primary education) and experiments with three elements. They include many diagrams, illustrations and instructions for exercises involving students. (

Teachers’ Opinion
I like the interdisciplinary science curricula developed within the project. It allows to introduce the scientific issues in a broader context by which they could be more easily understood by the students. Engaging students in projects raises their motivation. Students enjoy using computers (digital natives) and prefer new methods rather than the traditional use of the books.
Students’ Opinion
I liked the experience with the three elements for individual realization. It not only helps you to master the topics of the program but also to understand better the natural phenomena. It's interesting knowledge. Project website is well designed. The materials are worth reading.
