Description of the initiative
- The context
The schools in this partnership are facing the new educational challenges which social and technological changes have brought in order to reduce the “digital divide”, to counterbalance inequalities and, of course, to increase the overall quality of education we provide. These challenges also require a renewal in methodology in light of the introduction of ICT.

- The activities
- 09/2010 Activity 1: Who are we?
- 10/2010 Activity 2: Starting the network
- 09/2011 Activity 3: Autumn and maths
- 01/2012 Activity 4: Recording sounds
- 06/2012 Final summary of materials

The aims
• To USE, in a MEANINGFUL WAY, ICT (computers, scanner, digital cameras, video-cameras, Internet, email, tape recorders) as resources to widen knowledge and to facilitate communication among members of different school communities. This will be achieved by exchanging pupils’ work, sharing experiences and learning from each other.
• To EXPLOIT, the available resources (spaces, environments, materials, families and teachers) from all the different educational communities that are involved in this project, in order to enrich the learning experience of all the participants. This will be achieved by choosing several common topics (Art, autumn, identity, sounds...) to work on and each school will work on them from their particular cultural point of view. The partnership will set up a shared web site with presentation of all activities.
• To RECOGNIZE the students’ role as active agents in documenting their own learning process. This will be achieved by getting the pupils to take photos and videos themselves, they will also record sounds and document their work.
• To REDUCE"DIGITAL DIVIDE" and counterbalance inequalities at the same time as responding to the new educational challenges we face. This will be achieved by giving families the chance to access ICT (through, for example family corners), using ICT on a regular basis as a tool for learning, helping families to become familiar with ICT.

- The results achieved
Through this project families have had the opportunity to collaborate with the development of CEC project. As well as, children (from two to twelve years old) have been able to act as communicators, in addition to documenting their learning processes. Also, teachers have been able to discover new teaching resources and carry out creative activities using ICT. Last of all, schools have been able to open their doors to show and exchange their educational experiences. This project has also enabled educational projects from different countries to come together and as well as involve all partners in a cooperative learning. Actually, thanks to the integration of ICT in our schools, the CEC project has increased our educational quality. They have always been used within the current educational system where each child has been considered unique and the protagonist of his or her own growth

The project respond to a still very common issue of the educational system, how to trigger the students to have better school results by responding to their needs and by responding to the new society requirements. For sure us as teachers we cannot remain paper based, we have to evaluate in the digital zone. And this should be a partnership, an activity that involves school directors, teachers, students and parents and decision makers. The project is a good example and offer an interesting set of training materials designed to introduce e-applications to people with very basic or no knowledge of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
