Description of the initiative
The aim of the project was to increase interest in physics and also point out that physics is not just a set of abstract patterns, but also has its uses in everyday life and in the free time activities. The focus has been set on measuring acceleration. Many activities and measurements were recorded by a camera and videos were subsequently analyzed by sequential software. The aim of the project was also to increase independence of individual students through planning experiments. Students evaluated this form of teaching mostly in positively while their interest in physics increased and their theoretical knowledge was strengthened.
More Information
This is a very interesting project - all austrian project are very practical oriented, from the theretical backround to the practical excercises, from the concrete oputputs to the evaluation of thes work. On the web page www.prater.at you can see all performances what are connected to the schools iniciatives. On the web page http://www.learner.org/exhibits/parkphysics/ you can see find teachers resources for professional development as videos, curriculum, courses etc. from many topics and from scientific topics. On the web page http://www.physik.unimuenchen.de/didaktik/Computer/DAVID/4phys.htm you can find new didactic approaches in teaching physics.
Teachers’ Opinion
This is one of the projects, which is focused on acquainting students with physics in a fun way, a trend that is increasingly getting into our schools and in our country but it is not at all simple. As a teacher of physics I appreciate this approach, of course, the conditions are different but I would use it in our country, especially in teaching topics like: speed, acceleration, and motion and power consumption. Students are able to directly measure the following variables at the highway, billiard and so on.
Students’ Opinion
Zaujímavý nápad ako priblížiť fyziku nám študentom inak a vcelku zábavnou formou. Možno by sa to dalo využiť aj u nás ak keď kolotoče nemáme ale nejaké iné možnosti by sa asi našli.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
