Description of the initiative
''Free Silent Work'' allows students to acquire skills for concentrated, individual and cooperative learning. It supports their independence and their social growth, while at the same time supporting them to deal with their free time responsibly. This open form of education provides open time and space to create individual learning strategies and gives pupils the opportunity to determine their own pace of learning. Another aim is to give students a fun form of learning through a variety of teaching methods with a playful treatment and thereby promote their eagerness and desire for knowledge.
More Information
This very interesting approach to for teaching students in another way as - it is not very used in our schools to this time. In our schools is teaching traditional more directly, and not give so much space for students own way to understand scientific topic. In this web page as in another austrian web pages are not direct links to other web pages . We bring publications which are directly use for this approach:
Michaela Kraker: Projektbericht „Mathematik erlebbar und begreifbar machen“. Graz
2005, S. 4. ,Ingrid Lewisch: Mathematik Training positiv, 2. Klasse. ÖBV, Wien 1997 ,
Elemente der Mathematik, Arbeitsheft 6, Westermann Schroedel Diesterweg 2004
Teachers’ Opinion
It is very interesting site that describes a new approach to me, how to facilitate the understanding of science as mathematics, physics, etc. It is the principle of free silent work with other curricula in other environments, and other teacher´s approaches. The pupils themselves choose the topics covered as well as implementation of the experiments and problem solving tasks. The portal gives examples from mathematics - polygons and physics - electricity. It's inspiring for me but in terms of our educational system still quite difficult to achieve.
Students’ Opinion
This for as students something brand new what was not used in our school to this time. It is for us to free, and let for us to much space and freedom for learning to our own speed and understanding of scientific topics what could be easier for us.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
