Target Group
Students
Description of the initiative
The center of the project consists of thoughts about which grammatical and structural language tools should the pupils operate with in order to be able to handle the learning of science in English. The project was divided into several phases beginning with the constant use and repetition of the same occurring phrases and language structures and taking into account the subject topics of the curriculum as well as the methodological-didactic side of the teaching process. The project included a qualitative and quantitative control of the learning goals, i.e. phraseology and grammatical structures. The project included also a survey focusing on the evaluation of the project.
More Information
This is a very specific portal, which is more concerned on Austrian conditions to improve their language skills in English, in chemistry and physics. There are not direct links to other websites; it is very closely and specifically targeted. There is literature e.g.:

Teaching and Technology. Klagenfurt: Im Auftrag des BMBWK. IFF.

Teachers’ Opinion
This is a very specific Austrian portal and project, it was assumed because in Austrian schools English has been taught as a second compulsory language for a very long time. As a part of this project from a total 25 students volunteered only 13 who were interested in learning how to use professional English in chemistry and physics and so far only as the basis, just abbreviations and basic terms. Interesting, except the language part, was the use of different teaching methods in the learning process.
Students’ Opinion
It's great for those who want to know English also in chemistry and physics, and perhaps they will use it in life.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
