Description of the initiative
The Talnet Project focuses on talented young people aged 13 to 19 years old with an interest in natural and technical sciences. Talnet offers educational, investigative and communication activities in various fields of physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, geography and technical disciplines tailored to the needs of the curious ones. Talnet contributes to the initiation of the successful study and professional careers, as well as helping teachers in the care of gifted students. It informs about activities for the gifted even outside of Talnet, provides space for communication, discussion, scientific and other problem solving with the like-minded students. It facilitates contacts with experts in the fields of interest and thus creates conditions for further development of the talents of the participants. The main types of project activities are online courses (T-courses), work on own projects, field trips to professional workplaces with online training (T-excursion), joint meetings, international activities and structured plays for individuals and teams. Participants often want to see each other face to face, therefore Talnet organizes initial meetings and regularly twice a year also a four-day camp. During the year participants can meet together with the instructors at the T-excursions. Investigative activities include the team activity "For the physics in a team."
More Information
The strength of the offered activities (courses, excursions, expeditions, investigative training, etc.), for the curious and talented young people interested in science and technical subjects and their teachers, is suitable combination of classical and online forms of education. Current offer of excursions for schools is available at http://www.talnet.cz/nabidka-t-exkurzi-pro-skoly-a-kolektivy.
The main activities of the project are online courses (the current offer is listed on http://www.talnet.cz/t-kurzy), which also includes work on own projects and their public presentation. Individual courses are listed on the site and explained in detail and within each course there is given a demonstration of the offered course realization (used teaching materials, tasks, illustrations, videos, etc.). Organization of the offered courses is thought out in details as well (see http://www.talnet.cz/web/talnet/jak-se-studuje-vt-kurzu).
Teachers’ Opinion
It is a very good site to work with talented and motivated students for science but for me it's also about great ideas and inspirations how to enrich chemistry lessons with new topics and how to make it more attractive to students. Every topic is prepared really well, theoretically with pictures and reviews and practically with the videos and slideshows. Of course it is over the limit of the normal range of lessons/topics but for talented students it is great. I appreciate that there are information about seminars for teachers who work with talented youth.
Students’ Opinion
This site is better for my classmates who are more interested in science, I think I am not that into science subjects, but I appreciate that there can be found a lot of interesting facts and information.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
