Description of the initiative
We wish to determine people to be interested and to pay more attention to the natural disasters of the 21st century. By an active partnership among students, teachers and environmental institutions, we aim to achieve contents for an optional cross-curricular course “The 21st Century Hazards” and a practical guide to study first hand natural and anthropic hazards. The target group comprises students between 10-19 years old, English, Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Psychology and Physics teachers. All participants are to monthly perform geomorphic, climatic, hydrologic, biologic and pedagogic studies meant to comparisons and analyses and for further corroboration with research institutes findings. Other side of the performed activities shall cover youngsters need for training, setting up a practical first-aid guide in case of hazards. There will be symposiums, seminaries and a final showdown presenting overall conclusions of the performed analyses. As final products, we mention: contents for an optional course on "The 21st Century Hazards", a guide for practical activities and a first-aid guide in printed and electronic format, an Internet project platform rendering all the studies and analyses, courses and practical guides contents. The project language is English, so that all products will be drawn in this language and each partner shall further translate the contents in their mother tongue. We ultimately expect better trained for life students and teachers keenly anchored in today's educational and worldwide realities.

I believe it is crucial for us and our students to realise the damage we bring upon ourselves by not taking care of the environment.
Encouraging the younger generations to fight against pollution will ensure a better and healthier life for our descendants.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
