Description of the initiative
Unfortunately, many schools do not receive proper assessment of their performance, as it is rather data- and capacity-demanding; they are confused about what the most effective practices are, as research is rather fragmented; and they do not get proper
training for improvement of the relevant teaching and schooling factors.
Our project addresses these issues in the following way. It uses resources from several countries to measure net student learning gains (value-added) in mathematics and natural sciences over a four year period in ISCED 2; this will simultaneously provide schools with individual school performance feedback (SPF) reports and refine the utilized SPF system. Second, the project uses comprehensive, dynamic model of educational effectiveness to guide data collection and multilevel analysis in order to identify effective generic teacher and school practices; this will result in the effectiveness handbook with practical advice for schools, while also building consensus within the fragmented research field.
More Information
The project still does not have a website or a portal build. And it is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness and applicability of project results at this stage since they are unavailable for a wider audience.
Teachers’ Opinion
It is good to see there is an initiative focused on improving educational effectiveness. It would be very helpful to see some didactic resources teachers can use to improve the effectiveness of their practices.
Students’ Opinion
Without a website is difficult to assess the resources of the project.

It would be interesting to benefit from the project findings. It is a pity it does not have a website. Practical advice in our work is always more than welcome.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
