								Description of the initiative
The project's objective is the development of ICT-based self- and distance learning training courses familiarizing learners/users with the disassembly of Electrical and electronic devices and the identification of types and qualities of materials embodied. It targets both low level workforce, aiming at strengthening employability, safety at work and developing skills as well as higher employers (materials identification) covering a crucial training gap in the WEEE industry. The training material will be prepared in the form of scenarios, will be enhanced with multimedia material and developed so as to take the form of 3D training scenarios. The scenarios will in turn be transformed into 3D situations through Virtual Environment applications simulating the real world. In these, 3D virtual representations of real devices will be enacted. The beneficiaries will thus be able to participate in simulations of real-life situations (based on the training scenarios) and disassembly the devices.
RECDEV project's objective is the development of ICT-based self- and distance learning training courses familiarizing learners/users with the disassembly of Electrical and electronic devices and the identification of types and qualities of materials embodied. It targets both low level workforce(disassembly), aiming at strengthening employability, safety at work and developing skills as well as higher employers (materials identification) covering a crucial training gap in the WEEE industry. The training material will be prepared in the form of scenarios, will be enhanced with multimedia material and developed so as to take the form of 3D training scenarios. The scenarios will in turn be transformed into 3D situations through Virtual Environment applications (ICT) stimulating the real world. In these 3D virtual representations of real devices will be enacted. The beneficiaries/learners will thus be able to participate in simulations of real-life situations (based on the training scenarios) and disassembly the devices.
With traditional face to face training, we have to draw expensive resources whereas we don’t achieve a high recall rate of the learners. On the contrary, the proposed ICT virtual training environment will offer learners the possibility to apply the acquired knowledge in training scenarios, as many times as they need, from wherever they are addressing cultural diversities, thus provides a European dimension in systems and practices in the field.

								More Information
The project developed an e-learning platform, which can be used as an additional material in the learning process, as well as self-learning method to learn new things.

								Teachers’ Opinion
An innovative study material prepared as an interesting form of teaching scenario simulated with real-life situations with regard to electrical dismantling types of electronic devices and their applications. Main strength is in this project that it target is both low level workers as well as higher employers for recycling electric waste and electronic devices. Weakness is that with traditional face to face training, we have to draw expensive resources where as we don’t achieve a high recall rate of the learners. Accessibility is very good, because it’s delivered as an online course or by teaching methodological. This project is attractive only for specific kind of employees, who work with disposal of electric waste and electrical device. There are a multimedia materials and 3D training scenarios prepared, thus ensuring both self-study and distance learning. The course is easily accessible, because it is an online course.

								Students’ Opinion
In this initiative can participate average level technical workers and develop their skills to higher employer level with traditional face to face training. Accessibility is good, we can go to the online course, teaching methodology, And attractiveness of this initiative by my personal opinion is that anyone can learn by this method and it wouldn't be very hard.

This initiative and the project is really impressive. Before reading the main description I could see the importance of the necessity of recycling the electronic wast. But I couldn't see how to make educational products and training material for everyone out of this
I don't think that in any future every person has to know how to dissasemble their electronic devices in order to do a proper disposal. But anyway, it is a good idea to show and train as many as possible to do so. This makes another effort into sustainability and environment protection

I like this idea very much. To combine ICT knowledge with ecological awareness and sustainaable use of technologies. We are lacking such actions. The movies at Youtube are good illustrations. The drawback is that the e-learning courses are not avaliable at the website.

I'm reading the web page and I'm impressed.
As a computer teacher, I can see how the electronic devices are becoming obsolete and we don't know where we can throw them or we don't trust in our local recycling point.
Very good job, congratulations.
