Description of the initiative
The ICT for Innovative Science Teachers (ICT for IST) project was build upon the project IT for US (Information Technology for Understanding Science - 119001-CP-1-2004-1-PL-Comenius-C21) which resulting materials were ideally placed to fulfill this need; they were directed at teachers and teacher trainers and explicitly offer support to help teachers develop their skills in using ICT in their teaching.

The ICT for IST project aims to broaden the scope of application of the ‘IT for US' training pack with the view to increasing the international transfer of the teacher training agenda contained therein. It proposed to extend the teaching modules, to develop more ideas for implementation strategies, to increase the flexible use of existing modules across different software systems.
The results of the ICT for IST offer new approaches to teacher training supported by the instructional material, online resources and demonstration videos for use on courses for teachers.

The short term impact of the project was on the local level as partners try out the developed materials during the teacher training courses in their countries. The long term impact will be achieved via offering the resources on-line to a wider audience of science teachers and teacher trainers.
More Information
ICT for innovative science teachers was initiative coordinated by Centre for Informatics and Technology in Education in Warsaw which is in-service teachers training institution specialized in computer science and ICT.
The results of the ICT for IST offer new approaches to teacher training supported by the instructional material, online resources and demonstration videos for use on courses for teachers. The final materials are reliable materials for teachers of biology, chemistry or physics. They illustrate the integration of different ICT methods like data-logging, modelling, video measurement, simulation for enhancing practical science emphasising investigative (constructivist) teaching methods and focus on supporting teacher training in the use of ICT in the science teaching. Each module focuses on a single science topic and includes teachers' notes that support the implementation of the activities. The resources are available online. (http://ictforist.oeiizk.waw.pl/index.php?a=82)
They are addressed to science teachers and teacher trainers. The portal contains good quality videos with additional explanations (http://ictforist.oeiizk.waw.pl/index.php?a=93) with examples of experience, such as Spring oscillations, Pendulum motion.
Teachers’ Opinion
Very interesting course for teachers to facilitate the introduction of innovative solutions for teaching science with support of ICT. The course is divided into three parts. The first part contains introductory modules. In the second part the modules are closely related to the core curriculum in schools. The third part of this course includes extra-curricular modules. This allows for step-by-step approach to master the material. These are ready-to-use resources for Polish schools.
Students’ Opinion
Materials are addressed to teachers of science. The course shows how to teach science in interesting way, using computer programs.

Dissemination Seminar in Florence

31 October 2015 The seminar has been held in ITIS “A. Meucci” one of the schools involved within Goerudio project activities. Its main aim was to promote the results of the project toward a broad sample of stakeholders even overcrossing the number of people directly involved in the production of project outcomes. This purpose has been totally achieved especially thanks to the participation of students and teachers coming from different schools or from other classes instead of those ones directly involved within the project activities.
